Vivian Green's A Love Story album is one of my favorites of all time. I grew up listening to here constantly, and she definitely influenced my sound as a vocalist. Lately, I revisited her music and studied her live performances, and am just learning from her even more. She has a strong higher register and somewhat light voice, like me. As a vocal coach and an artist, I think it's so beneficial to find singers that have similar ranges and tones as me. I work to master song after song. I love that she has stayed true to her sound throughout her career. Her music is influencing me all over again.
When I have a creative insight, there is a high. i think back in the day, i made music as much as i did because it made me feel so good. I think you could argue that there is a creative addiction - but you know, the healthy kind. Musically, I think I change music like I change clothes! What I listen to on a day to day basis is really contingent upon my mood and what's going on in my life.
I've been hearing this song a lot on the radio lately, and I had no idea it was her!! This is amazing! I remember watching her on Tyler Perry's House of Payne as an actor. It's really cool to see her now focus on music and come out with a new album! I'm really liking her music!

My earliest attempts at writing were when I was seven. I would sit at the piano and transcribe the songs I heard on the radio. I'd change little things in the music and write different lyrics.
