I think the greatest gift to me is that I can express myself in songs. It helps me get through some of the hardest times of my life. It also helps me celebrate some of the best times. Performing this song is always personal, because music was my first love. I can't ever get away from it, and I don't ever want to get lost in life and forget my purpose in music.
I think it's really finding that belief in yourself, where you just have it no matter what's going on, no matter what anyone else says. I think that's the challenge, is to really have that belief in yourself. It felt SO good to perform again! After a six month hiatus, after relocating and rebuilding, I decided it was time to start sharing again. I have been working on some great new music, and have started taking voice lessons again! I'm finally getting settled into my new home, Atlanta. I opened my set with one of my favorite 90's songs, "I Wanna Be Down." If you listen closely, you'll hear how I switched it up and really made it my own. #MusicMonday
