Self-love is really a foundation for everything, and however you practice or express that is so, so important. This is something every woman should do...it is a journey to self love, and it may not be the easiest for some. For me, once I tuned out the noise of the outside world and truly tapped in to me, I fell into a confidence no one could shake. I am growing as a woman and an artist every day.
There are no hard and fast rules. Sometimes you work for free and get no credit or courtesy. That's why you make sure you do what you love. Singers- nothing sounds like you. For better or worse-there is only 1 of you. Don't homogenize your sound by making it just like the next. I love these two quotes. A lot of my music relays the message of finding purpose and living life to the fullest. You can't do that if you don't do what you love. Also, I am a vocal coach, and I make sure to tell my students that their voice is truly unique, and no one else has it. Stand true in the gifts given to only you.

Some people say there's nothing new under the sun. I still think that there's room to create, you know. And intuition doesn't necessarily come from under this sun. It comes from within. Whatever I'm doing, I'm in that moment and I'm doing it. The rest of the world's lost. If I'm cooking some food or making soup, I want it to be lovely. If not, what's the point of doing it? Seeing this performance really inspired me. Visually, it's amazing. Studying Sade's sound and music is really eye opening. I'm appreciating her artistry even more!
I'm a believer that the more I'm giving, the happier I am, and the more beautiful my exterior will be. Life is all about giving. It is the most fulfilling feeling and more rewarding than any gold medal. I choose to give through my music and through teaching. It's a wonderful way of expression for me, but at the same time, my hope is to touch and inspire listeners. I fell into teaching, but it's something I'm naturally good at. Why go against what's so pure, when you can give authentic offerings.
